An ode to cardigans

Dear cardigans, oh how I have missed you during the scorching days of summer!
I would glance longingly at you whilst I baked and wilted and I wondered if I would ever need or know your snuggly warm embrace again.
But hurrah, for we have been reunited again recently and the weather has allowed me to bask in your loveliness and feel comforted and safe once more.
It has truly been wonderful to have some milder weather, let me tell you. Cardigans, tights and slightly heavier dresses have been unearthed and allowed out to play. Yay for cardigan weather!!!
Yay for completely impractical  handbags too! Come on, we all need some sparkles to gives us a lift sometimes, and I thought the pretty pearl and beaded op shopped cardigan would love to have a stunning vintage blingy handbag to be friends with.

I have always steered clear of white or cream (possibly due to my innate messiness and tendency to spill everything down my front!), but have found a few lighter shades that seem to go with just about everything.
Who would have thought I would be seen in beige, but I think the pretty pinks picked up this outfit.
And the fabulous hand bag that I rediscovered at the back of the wardrobe and seems to go perfectly with this skirt.

Silly faces and some crazy poses with the Little Miss helped pick up the outfit as well. That never fails to add a little zing to an ensemble!
Oh, hello Little Miss!
Hope everyone has had a lovely relaxing weekend. We have been hanging about doing housey stuff (there always seems to be something that needs repairing!), walking the dog, and am just about to embark on a long leisurely lunch at the local pub. If only the weekend could be a bit longer!

  2. I think a cardigan in every possible colour is a very good idea! How lovely to be able to use your cardi collection again, you look gorgeous. Love the blue and white outfit, and you look so pretty in the soft pinky peachy ensemble. Call it champagne or nude, and no one will ever know the cardi is beige!
Little Miss is a supermodel in the making! Xxxx

  3. Nude! I like that. From now on no more beige, just nude. I agree that everyone should have a cardi in every colour and I am getting there, just a few more shades to go (orange, where are you?). And yes, the Little Miss is diva material through and through! XXX

  4. I love cardis on other people but I could never wear one myself, which is a bit daft as its almost always cardi weather in the UK! You look gorgeous in both outfits and little Miss is adorable! xxx

    1. I don't know what I would do without my cardi's!!! And here in Melbourne we have a lot of need for them for most of the year too. The Little Miss is not adorable. If you tell her that she is cute, pretty or adorable she states, "I am not. I'm awesome!" Crazy little lady. XXX

    1. I love that in Melbourne we always have a need for our cardi's, but at least I do get to bury the big coats in the back of the wardrobe for some of the year. I hope you get to jacket-less for a while!

Don't you hate it when you still pine for something at the chazza - you can't get it out of your head. And, yes, the Little Miss is one fabulous poser! XXX

  8. This post made me chuckle because I'm currently looking forward to some sort of warm weather which will allow me to wear a dress and cardigan (as opposed to dress, cardigan, possibly second cardigan and winter coat!) Haha! I do like a good cardigan and when I find a good one, I do try to buy it in all the good colours available!

    1. It is so funny being at the other end of the seasons where I am just so sick of the heat and you guys are completely fed up with the cold! I can understand how you would love to lessen the load though - do you really have to have so many layers? Brrrrrrr! Cardigans are pretty great for all of that in between weather. and you can never have enough!

  9. Cardigans are a massive year round go to in my wardrobe as well. I've worn them on days when it was +40C and -40C and every last temperature (and weather condition in between), so I can wholeheartedly relate to your ode to this timelessly pretty lovely, practical, and very fashionable garment. That beaded number is a show stoppingly beautiful!
